Robert L. Moyer

1886 - 1944

"The resurrection of the dead is the chief truth of the Christian faith....He who takes away the resurrection mantles our future with Egyptian darkness. To take away the resurrection is to leave man with no preeminence above the beast....Other doctrines are important; this is one of the essentials."

Dr. Moyer was an evangelist from 1915-20, then became pastor of the United Brethren Church in Minneapolis.

Later Dr. W. B. Riley asked him to become his assistant at First Baptist Church, Minneapolis. When Dr. Riley retired from the pastorate in 1942, Dr. Moyer then became pastor and served in that capacity until his death.

Dr. Moyer was long dean of Northwestern Bible School, and author of several books.

Dr. H. A. Ironside said: "Few men have the winsomeness and tenderness combined with sound scriptural teaching that characterizes the ministry of my esteemed friend and fellow-laborer, Dr. Robert L. Moyer."
