Dr. Viola Walden dies at
age 91

Dr. Viola Walden,
91, longtime Sword of the Lord employee,
graduated to Heaven in the early morning
hours of April 29, 2007. She had
served faithfully at the Sword of the
Lord Foundation since its inception in
September 1934.
Having served as a
special research and editorial assistant
for Dr. John R. Rice (46 years), Dr.
Curtis Hutson (14 years) and Dr.
Shelton Smith (12 years), her tenure at
the Sword of the Lord was 72 years and 7
months.
She was at her desk
at work on Friday (April 27) as usual.
Funeral services
are scheduled for 1:00 p. m. Friday, May
4, 2007, at Franklin Road Baptist
Church, Murfreesboro, TN. The body
will lie in state at the church from
12:00-1:00 p. m. on Friday.
Visitation will be held at Woodfin Chapel, 1488
Lascassas Pike, Murfreesboro, TN, on Thursday from
3:00-8:00 p. m.
Interment will be at the Bill Rice Ranch in
Murfreesboro.
In lieu of flowers, you may honor the memory of “Miss V”
through donations made to the Sword of the Lord Foundation Memorial Gift Fund.
